Creating a Road Map (10MB PDF)
A new resource is available from All Kids Count to assist public
health agencies that are planning or implementing projects to
integrate child health information systems.
Creating a Road Map is a compilation of reports by the All Kids
Count Connections community of practice. Connections comprises
eleven state and local health departments and private organizations
that are integrating two or more child health information systems.
Creating a Road Map advances the knowledge base for developing
and implementing integrated child health information systems.
It documents the systems integration activities undertaken by
nine Connections member agencies. It contains high-level recommendations
that are relevant to various aspects of planning and implementing
a public health information systems project ranging from developing
a marketing plan to defining a business process. It also includes
detailed information provided about partnership with the private
provider community, ensuring privacy and confidentiality, and
using billing data, among other topics.
